Problems with the Chicago consulate

The consulate people are not very helpful and will not accept my mom's paperwork. So the only alternative would be to go to Romania in person and possibly spend months doing the red tape.

However, we just hired a lawyer and things seem to be going well. We're putting the Hague Apostile on everything which mean Romania has no choice but to accept it. There's no Hague Convention here in Peru, so I'm sending everythign to my mom to get it done in the States. Getting a police report here is no big deal, it woudl only take a couple days.

My mother is a Romanian national and citizen, they just refuse to recognise this.
