Just heard from my lawyer. Looks like good news. NOW they're saying that I'm a citizen since my mom is. We've been saying that for years. My lawyer has been telling them this for months, and they finally have realised it. Before this, we were trying to get me citizenship through my mom. Now we've decided to prove that my mom's a citizen (and get her citizenship if necessary) and then try to get me citizenship.
Unfortunately, the Chicago consulate doesn't recognise her citizenship. All we need to do is get sworn declarations and then I should get it by default.
