Became Peruvian and putting Romanian citizenship on hold

Just wanted to let people know that my quest to get citizenship has been temporarily put on hold. We both need a break.

I got Peruvian citizenship through marriage, took 3 months of running around to various govt offices and they gave me another last name. So I'm frantically running all over the place trying to change my name on our flat and car so that we can sell them. Ironically, I got Peruvian citizenship and still don't have Romanian. We thought it'd be so easy since my mom was born there.

There were a couple reasons that I became Peruvian. First and foremost, I figured that Peru has taken so much away from me, the least it could do is give me citizenship. Another reason was because I was sick of getting all the documents needed to renew my residency and pay the foreigner tax and go to immigration 3 or 4 times a year. Lastly, my husband and I have property there and I'd like to protect it. If something happens to my husband, I figure it'd be easier to handle the paperwork if I were Peruvian.

I'm hoping to resume paperwork for Romania in August. I am will fight this for what it's worth. I've put kids on hold in the hopes of getting citizenship.

Be sure to read about what has happened so far. You can find everything in the quick summary of dates.
